The knife itself is excellent, sharp, well balanced (as are all the knives from this line) and quite sturdy/heavy. The only downsides are (1) it came without a sheath and (2) The Montgomery block set doesn't include this knife. Would absolutely give it a 5/5 if not for those two "issues."

The online shopping and especially pickup aside I would still recommend this knife.

I have not had a chance to slice a delicious roast with it yet but it definitely slice vegetables with ease and can slice paper thin. The tang fits nicely in the hand and it has a nice balanced weight. This is going to be a perfect addition to my knife set and will be used regularly. While inspecting the construction of the knife you can see that it is of great quality, made of professional grade German stainless steel, made for long lasting durability. It also is long enough to slice through some big cuts of meat with hacking it to pieces. I can't wait to use this knife more!

We do a lot of cooking and entertaining in our household, so we're always looking for tools to help make the process smoother and easier. This carving knife is definitely a must-have. At 10 inches, it's ideal for cutting large roasts and the like with extreme precision. It's forged from a single piece of quality German steel and has a nice heft to it - just enough to give you better grip and control, but not overly so to make it difficult to use. The only downside is finding a spot to store it, as it's too longer for any conventional knife block. Other than that, it's easy to use and clean and I expect that it will last a good long while.

We are honestly in love with this Knife! It is very sharp. It cut through the roast we were having last night with ease. We didn't need to put pressure on the knife it just glided through. I found the knife to be a comfortable weight and that it fit well within my hand. I did not feel I didn't have control at anytime. I am already wanting to add more to our knife collection.
